I got up fairly early this morning, meditated and breakfasted with Gramma Sally before heading to her school: the Seattle Girls' School on the corner of Jackson and Martin Luther King Jr. Streets in the heart of Seattle's Central District! Ryan's grandma is the "Dean of Faculty" there - which means that it's her job to help the teachers be the best they can be and have fun while doing it!

The first thing, GS gave me over to Ana - a fifth grader, regularly in attendance at "before school care," who "colored me" and gave me my bright, brilliant outfit which I wear proudly to this day!
The fifth grade girls gave me a warm welcome at SGS, introducing me to "Officer B" (Clo

vis Battiot) who serves as the school's security officer. He was born and raised just outside of Paris, France before moving to Chicago at the age of 10, and so he speaks fluent, elegant French with Gramma Sally (who used to be a French teacher.)
Once inside the building, I had to sign in with "Miss Jessica," the school's receptionist and registrar. Luckily

I was able to forgo the "visitor's badge," as it was larger than I!
I was immediately introduced to several of the other administrators - Rafael del Castillo, Assistant Head of School (and Grandma Sally

's good pal and office mate) and Jeanette James, the Admissions Director, already hard at work assuring that deserving girls, age 10 to 14, get the opportunity to experience a Seattle Girls' School education. Rafael invited me to help him review his impressive email inbox and answer pressing messages. It's hard work being an Assistant Head of School, no doubt about it! I want to be just like Rafael del Castillo when I grow up!! (He speaks Spanish too!)
